This is a photo of the dance at Eucalyptus Middle School. I chose this photo because one big part of the story was Callie's crush on Jesse. They went to the dance together and during their slow dance, Jesse disappears leaving Callie to start crying with her best friend Liz. She then finds Jesse sitting on the stairs with West. This implies that Jesse is also gay and Jesse makes a comment to Callie saying how she falls in love with every boy that's nice to her. After this, she angrily storms away.

This is a drawing of Eucalyptus Middle School. The setting of the story is this middle school and most of the book is there. The main important things happen here, like the play, and the dance. This is a very big part of the book and the overall setting of Drama.

For my three characters, I chose Callie, Jesse and Greg. Callie is a protagonist of the story. I thought she was the protagonist because the story is about her and from her perspective. Also, she is nice and friendly and the story revolves around her drama play. Jesse is a major character. I thought he was a major character because almost every single page features him and he is usually with Callie. Also Jesse is Callie's love interest, so he plays a big part of the story and works together with Callie in the play. Greg is a flat character because he isn't well described and does not have many interesting character traits. He is very rarely seen in the book and I actually forgot about him during the story. This proves how unimportant he is in the story.

I chose this photo of the library because it is where Callie begins to like Jesse and where they went to grab stuff for their theater project. Originally, Callie asked Jesse if he wanted to go to the mall with her but he never responded. But, he surprises her by taking her to a fancy book store instead.

This photo of the theater was the biggest part of the whole story. The book Drama got its name because the plot is all revolving around Callie and her friends' theater club and production. The school's production of "Moonlight over Mississippi" had Callie and Jesse on stage crew, but later in the story when the lead girl character quit and didn't want to finish the play mid-way through their production, Jesse put on the dress and kissed West. This foreshadowed their relationship and Jesse coming out as gay.
