SUMMARY

At the Basgiath War College of Navarre, Violet Sorrengail, trained to be part of the Scribes, is forced by her mother, general of the Academy, to enter the Riders Quadrant instead of the Scribe Quadrant. She must survive dangerous trials, bond with a dragon, and train to become a warrior in the ongoing war. Her mother's role and her frail appearance make her a target, particularly with Jack Barlowe and Xaden Riorson, whose father was killed by Violet’s mother after he led a rebellion.
