What could be some positive things that come from tourists?

Prereading

This summer there has been an exorbitant number of people in my city. I know that it is an old, beautiful city. I know it is full of tourist attractions and historic sites and famous landmarks. I know that tourists want to come
here and spend money at the local restaurants and hotels. I know that many people make their living off of tourists and that our town needs them to survive.

Today we hear from Lanay about traveling.

She Said

Kyra's

I know all the benefits. So, let me tell you about the cons. All of these people come to the city on their low-cost airline, and have low-cost accommodations. These people don’t want to spend money in our city. They cook in their apartments instead of patronizing the local
restaurants. They want to come in and be as cheap as they can, sneak into the sites without paying and then leave their trash and litter for us to pick up. These are low-cost travellers.

The travelers also all congregate in the same place every day at the same time. They park their cars all over downtown, so the people that live here have a shortage of parking. They don’t respect the traffic legislation, and drive the wrong way on one-way streets. Many of them rent bicycles or scooters and ride them
recklessly, without paying attention. They take the same buses, fill them to capacity and scream at each other and point at the sites. I hate my bus ride to work now.
recklessly

Also, a lot of these tourists are just plain disrespectful. They don’t care that they are standing on a monument that is hundreds of years old. They want to get their precious selfie to post on social media and don’t care if they destroy a structure that is almost two thousand years old. They ride their scooters across the gardens, through the walking paths and down marble stairs.
These tourists don’t care if they do damage. They certainly aren’t going to offer to pay for any of the damage they do. They ought to be banished

Lanay said that the tourists didn't want to spend money, and I understand why she might say that. However, maybe they spend money in different places and new indsutries will emerge.
