antics
With all of the social media, videos, and blogs in today’s world, it is really hard not to hear about celebrities’ antics. It seems like someone is always getting married, having a fight, breaking up or getting into trouble. Celebrities aren’t always the best role models, but there are some that are good at making a difference in the world. This report will outline some of the ways celebrities are helping out and discuss the causes they believe in.
suffering
One cause that many celebrities are involved in is Humane Society International. This organization works toward animal protection and tries to stop animal suffering around the world. The main goals of this organization are to ban trophy hunting, stop animal testing and improve the lives of farm animals. They have also been hugely successful in encouraging the wealthy to go fur-free. In the past years, a large portion of the population has become angry at those that choose to wear fur.
barbaric
Trophy hunting occurs when a hunter kills an animal, not to obtain food, but rather to be able to display an animal part. Trophy hunters also like to pose in pictures for their social media with dangerous animals they have killed. These hunters are proud of killing lions, bears, wolves and foxes. There are places in the world where the locals raise dangerous animals and then release them near the hunters, so that the hunters can approach the dangerous animals within a safe place. The Humane Society works with local governments to put an end to this barbaric practice.
cosmetic
The Humane Society also works to try to put an end to animal testing. Every year over 50 million dogs, cats, monkeys, rabbits and rats are involved in testing for new cosmetic products, like make-up, lotions and nail polish. These animals are then left with disease, or sickened with toxic chemicals. Paul McCartney, Steve Aoki and Ke$ha are among the many celebrities who are dedicated to stopping these experiments.
