How many advertisements do you think you see every day?

Prereading

commercials
I hate the way all of our media is so full of advertisements these days. No matter what you do, you can’t escape it. You want to watch a thirty-second video, and you have to sit through three different ads. In the movie theatre, where you have already paid a small fortune for a ticket, you are forced to see a half an hour of commercials before the movie starts. There are ads on the subway, ads on the bus. Soon there will be ads in our textbooks.
abuse
I think the worst abuse of the system comes from subscriber services. In the past, you paid for the subscription so that you could watch shows without any ads, but recently these services have started playing ads before you can start your show. These companies are just greedy and looking to make a profit any way they can. I think right now I probably watch more advertisements than entertainment.
promote
Honestly, I don’t see this situation getting better. I think companies have realised that the real money is in advertising, and are willing to sell any and every surface for this purpose. Athletic fields have advertisements running around their border, on the grass and on the big screens. The players even have to wear advertisements on their uniforms! It won’t be long until everyday people are selling their skin to promote products with their tattoos.
barrage
I envision a future where the barrage of advertisements is so strong, that there is not one single place on earth where you can escape. I fear for the day when our natural forests have signs tacked onto the trees and the sides of the mountains are covered in banners. I only hope that some official somewhere is able to make a rule that puts a stop to this insanity.
To make rules to regulate advertising.
To put signs on trees to stop advertising.
To escape from earth.
To stop cutting down the rainforest.
