When?

The Brown vs. Board of Education case was the trial that tested whether it was fair for blacks to be separated in schools, the Supreme Court ruled that separating children in public schools based on race was unconstitutional. It marked the end of legalized racial segregation in American schools, overturning the "separate but equal" principle established in Plessy v. Ferguson of 1896.
