Greensboro Sit-Ins

This led to school being desegregated and the start of fights for equal rights, this was a baseline for the fight for black rights and led to an increasing amount of people fighting for there rights.

In May 17, 1954, In Topeka, Kansas the NAACP sued the state for violating black rights to equal schools and the 14th Amendment. This was Known as the Brown Vs Board of Education Case.

The Sit-Ins

Greensboro Sit-Ins

This led to the sit in movement across the coutnry were students would sit in the segregated lunch counters and would peacfully protest without violence. Even threw all the hate they still stood strong.

On February 1, 1960 in Greensboro North Carolina. Black college students sat at a diner for a peaceful protest that turned violent when white customers threw food at them and spit at them as well.

This led to national wide notice on how the police caption abuseing the kids and birmingham was no longer segreagted.

In an act of peacful protests, balck and white students decided to march through Birmingham. This was not very well taken by the white residents. Police and firefighters decided to spray down the students with water hoses. The pressure of the water ripped through new clothes and skin. This was one of the most horribly taken acts of resistance to protest that even the president needed to get involved.

March On Washington and "I have a Dream"

This led to the inspirtion to fight for equal rights was inspired by the speech it caused the galvanisation of equal rights legislation as well. This was one of the many reasons that caused the Civil Rights Act to be put in place and was the building block for the fight to protest more discriminatory problems.

August 28, 1963. A compeling speech was an inspiration to fight for equal rights. it caused the galvanisation of equal rights legislation as well and the advancement of the discriminatory protests to continue and thrive with the most encouragement and fighting spirit.

This led to try to desegregate public transportation. This was important because all people should fight for equal rights and this fight lasted for over a year. They walked and scheduled carpools to avoid using buses for protest.

In Montgomery, Alabama on December 5, 1955 Almost evry black person in the city didn't ride the bus for 13 months and it started because Rosa Parks was kick off the for not giving her seat to a white man .

This led to the Black Power movement and the idea that blacks were just as capable as whites. This was the spark of more aggressive protesting and the cause of major marches and civil rights activists to fight for their rights.

In the 1960’s and the 70’sMalcolm X The black power movement was the idea that blacks should be running the country and the encouragement of self-defense and black political power. The march was in Greenwood, Mississipi.

Malcolm X a Diffrent Perspective

Malcolm X was a diffrent fighter. As a previous member of the Nation of Islam, a black community that believed that they should take back their freedom by any means necessary. Although he thought they should fight, he didn't believe that violence was the answer and he sadly was assinated a couple years later.

Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks was one of the biggest reasons for the protest on the buses. She refused to give up her seat to a white man and was arrested. She became the soul example of why they should fight for their rights.

Greensboro Sit-Ins

This shows a picture of college students sitting at a lunch counter silent protesting. This was organized by the SNCC a silent protesting community that was created by students.

With the brutality of the students being hosed down, students were shown that this is the stake that they are putting in for their freedom.

This shows a picture of 250,000 people of all different races who showed up to stand in Lincolns shadow to honor him and fight for their freedom.
