You and your co-worker are a forensic accountant who has been hired to investigate accounting fraud for an upcoming case. You'll need to find out all you can about your case and then present it in court.

What do I need to include in my research?

  • Name of Company/organization involved in the fraud.
  • What was the company in the business of doing, selling, offering?
  • Where was the company founded?
  • Where was the company's headquarters at the time of the fraud? Where were their other offices?
  • Player(s) involved in the scheme (individuals as well as other companies)
  • What is their background with the company and eduction level?
  • Describe the illegal fraud that was taking place?
  • When did it start, and how long did happen before being discovered?
  • How was the fraud discovered?
  • How much money was involved in this fraud case?
  • How much was recovered?
  • How was it recovered?
  • How did this fraud affect the company, employees, customers, etc?
  • What happened to all of those who committed the fraud?
  • What were they convicted of?
  • Where are they today?
  • What penalties did the company incur?
  • Is the company still operating today? If so, is it by the same name?
