The population of the East Ramapo School District has been experiencing significant changes and is expected to continue evolving. As a Special Education Teacher, I have previously implemented Advanced Literacies to cater to the needs of my specific group of students. However, due to the rapid increase in English Language Learner (ELL) students within the Special Education setting, my focus has shifted.

Changing Populations

The techniques, tools, and protocols introduced through Advanced Literacies are designed to benefit all students. These innovative strategies have been shown to be effective for learners of diverse backgrounds and abilities, contributing to a more inclusive and effective education.

The implementation of new techniques allows for more efficient use of time and yields improved results.

The curriculum necessary for the exam can be effectively covered through an alternative approach.
