WHY RECYCLE

Creating an engaging social media calendar is crucial to brand success, but I think we can all agree that it requires a lengthy amount of time and commitment. Rather than spending hours on every single piece of content, why not consider a recycling strategy? Every social post doesn’t need to stem from a brand-new piece of content; rather repurposing something you’ve already created is a great way to leverage social media recycling.

WHY: Apart from the obvious benefit of saving time, repurposing content can also potentially give you an SEO boost. Having several pieces of content centralized around similar topics and keywords allows search engine crawlers to recognize you as a source of authority. This is seen as sharing valuable resources in multiple forms – not just creating content to check a box. A recycling strategy can also assist in your scale by way of increasing audience reach. For example, creating a blog post gives you presence, but creating a blog post that can be turned into a YouTube video that’s linked in an e-blast and has outstanding quotes that are pulled out and featured in a social post allows a far greater reach across four platforms with very different audiences.
