The FReedom Riders

The freedom rides was one of the most important dares for African Americans. On May 4th 1961 they left Washington D.C to go to New Orleans. It was s group of white and African American civil rights activists. When the Freedom riders arrived in Birmingham, a group of Klu Klux clan members with baseball bats and through a bomb at the bus. This was so important because attracted the attention of the Kennedy Administration, and a important result of their work the Interstate Commerce Commission banned segragation on the buses.

The March of Washington was one of the most important moments for African Americains. MLK and American Americans marched to Washington D.C, to perform one of the greatest speaches in Americain history the I Have a Dream speech. This happened on Augyst 28 1963.

The assassination of MLK was one of the most impactful things to African Americans. On April 4 1968 MLK was staying at a motel in Memphis TN when a man James Earl Ray assassinated MLK. This caused lots of hate and protests.
