The significance of the event was it showed the world what was happening, in the south

artifact number 3: This is a photo taken after a young women was arrested for being in the march their were over 1,000 child in a small amount of jail cells.

Artifact number 2: This is a photo of the Birmingham fire department sprayer water at the African American children that were apart of the march it ripped their clothes apart and could have sadly killed them

Artifact number 1: This is a photo that shows a young man being attacked by the police for marching in the street for what he belives in.

Room 01

This is the place where MLK was shot, the motel Lorraine in memphis. After the crime scene was allowed to the public people put up reefs to pay their respects. It created an outrage with the civil rights people who wanted revenge

This is James Earl Ray after he was arrested after killing MLK, he fled from the united states to canada and the to britian. He tried to come back and was caught

This is the weapon that james earl ray shot mlk. It is a sniper rifle. It was collected by the cops during the investegation.

Room 02

This is Malcolm X after he was shot and killed by a member of the Nation of Islam. He was shot 10 times and saldy lost his life. He died around a month and a week before MLK. The civil rights movement lost 2 great leaders and were sad so they vowed and wanted change.

This is malcolm x before he left the Nation of Islam to form his own group called black power he had diffrences from MLK he wanted violence not peace to change the civil rights.

This is malcolm X as a child he was in a foster home. He fell into the crowd and joined the group Nation Of Islam. He was arrested and in jail when he joined.
