Hispanic Heritage Month and the 21 Spanish-speaking countries
PREGUNTA
Hispanic Heritage Month honors the contributions of Hispanic people in history, culture, and language. Our class also created projects: poems, songs, interviews, and researched important Hispanic figures. Could these projects be considered our own contributions to Hispanic Heritage? Why or why not
We created poems, songs, and interviews in Spanish, which show how we can use the language in new ways. We researched important Hispanic figures and shared their stories, so we are helping others learn. Our work celebrates culture, language, and identity, just like Hispanic Heritage Month does. Even though we are students, we are adding our voices and creativity to the celebration. Maybe not the same, but still important because… Our projects are small, but they show respect and effort to honor Hispanic contributions. We are learning and practicing Spanish, which helps keep the language alive. Our work connects us to the history and culture we are studying..
