"It's as much fun to scare as to be scared."Vincent PriceWhat you can infer from this quote, is that,, with every advantage, there is a disadvantage.

"84% of teachers report using the internet at least weekly to find content that will engage students." (Purcell, 2013)

Pedagogy & Feedback Encourages Participation Innovative Resources

Complete simple tasksAccess to Current InformationSkills for the Real World

Teachers learn up to date teaching methods that give instant feedback to ensure student comprehension, and the students find it more intriguing.

Shy students can participate in discussion or opinions when there are alternative forms of answering questions such as surveys, or polls.

Online games, quizzes and e-books help to change the technique of learning which helps students stay interested in learning.

There are automated tools that can help with tasks that take up time, such as automatic uploads of assignments, automatic grading, and so much more, that save time.

Students are able to access current information online, dictionaries, connections to other students or teachers through applications.

Teachers can help students to search for information that is current as well as reliable. Also, it's important to learn the proper etiquette of referencing where they found their information and how to utilize it for their future occupations.

con's of Technology in the classRoom

DistractionLimits Social InteractionsEasier to CheatTechnology Access LimitedNonreliable ResourcesTechnological Difficulties

Students may not always follow through with the tasks being assigned, they may access videos, or enter chat sites that does not pertain to what is going on in class, which keeps them from learning and completing their assignments.

Social interactions with other students help them become more confident in responding to questions in class, so if they are dependent on answering online or through social apps, they can't make that connection personally.

Students may access the internet when they are testing or when they are given assignments, instead of using their own knowledge which results in failing.

It is possible that low income students may not have access to laptops or iPads, which would make it difficult for them to complete assignments outside of the classroom setting.

If students have not been taught the proper way to identify valid resources, they may access information that is wrong or out of date, which would result in failing.

Teachers that depend solely on the use of technology, may find it difficult to change lesson plans if internet access were to fail and their lessons were solely based on activities online.

Information I Agree On:-Technology can make education more engaging.-Technology can help in future careers.-Teacher-student connection is the key to get the students engaged and willing to learn.

Disagreements:

-I believe that access to technology is possible now, not just at school but at home as well because students are provided with Chromebooks that they can take home.-Students are usually told in the beginning what sources to trust and which ones are not reliable.

Incorporation in the Classroom

When teaching Kindergarteners the alphabet, I find it useful to include videos that can help them to remember.

How can you see this impacting your particular grade level/content area? Students in Kindergarten flourish in environments that include videos, and interactive games so I believe it would help them to retain more information and keep them excited to learning.

This article was written pre-covid...how has the message been impacted by COVID events?

II believe that the message now, just means that it is even more important to include technology, starting at a young age. From experience, I know that it gets more complicated as one gets older, to learn new platforms of technology. Also, every aspect of out lives includes technology, doctor's offices, grocery stores, education, so it is vital to to understand and utilize technology.

The reason for choosing Genially to complete my project, was because it was new to me and I wanted to challenge myself to figure out how to use the features, which are so creative and exciting. And I had to include a little Halloween spice because it's so close. The order of process was:-Personal understanding-Summarization-Utilization in the classroom
