Retinal pigment epithelium
RPE cells are derived from human embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells. These cells are differentiated into RPE cells using growth factors. They are formed into tissue using scaffolds and delivered as therapy via injection into the affected retinal area
Muller Glial Cells
MG cells main function is to maintain homeostasis. These cells can proliferate and generate neurons to repair damaged retinal cells. They repair by reacting to injury with reprogramming, react to the stem cell characteristics which then regenerate retinal cells and restore vision.

RP cells produce neural retina tissue. These cells come from the optic vessel during embryonic development. RP cells are cultured from embryonic stem cells and can be guided with specific growth factors to form a tissue. RP cells are imperative to retina repair because they can be used to replace damaged cells.
