Martin Luther King went to Washington DC to deliver his famous i have a Dream speech. he delivered his speech and 250,000 people showed up to listen to this. when he spoke he made many allusions to the Gettysburg Address. he was talking about how slowly desegragation was going. this led to the civil rights legislation.

these were the laws passed due to civil injustice and MLK peaceful protests. these were passed in the year 1964. the 24th Amendment said that you cant money to vote.The Civil Rights Act of 1964 made segragation illegal everywhere. the voting rights act

The Little Rock Nine are the nine kids who were accepted to Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. When they went to school on their first day, they were swarmed by an angry mob. The governor called in a small army. After the president heard about this, he sent in 3000 troops to help the Little Rock Nine go to Central High School. The mayor closed the school after this year.
