Rosa Parks
A woman of change
Rosa Parks had also been a famous civil rights activist, famous for not giving up her seat on the bus. Her story is she was on a bus after work but she had been so tired of being pushed around that she didn't give up her set when a white man came along and asked for it. She had been taken to jail right after this event where she had written several letters describing what life was like in jail and why she was there in the first place. Rosa Parks bravery had sparked the Montgomery boycott. A boycott is when people don't buy from certain sellers. All blacks and some white people weren't using the bus until it was integrated. Bus comppanys had lost millions because almost al of their customers were black people.

Room 01
Assasination of MLK
Think of a man. A man standing in the balcony of a motel room. That man was Martin Luther King Jr. It was a peaceful Wednesday then BAM! A gunshot had gone off and MLK was on the ground. MLK had been a civil rights activist just like Rosa Park. We've explained more about Rosa Parks in a different room. MLKs death had sparked a lot of racial injustice

The fight of the children
In the spring of 1963 people had sent out kids to try to protest for peace. Their thought was, "Nobody would harm children.. right?" Well they were severly wrong. Policemen were hosing the children down with high pressure hoses, they sent out dogs to scare them
