Jean Monnet : the father of European united
Jean Monnet was born in 1888 in Cognac and he was dead in 1979. He was the son of Claude Monnet, french impressionist artist. He is a french diplomat and visionnary who played a key role in the creation of the Europ e union.
Jean Monnet belived that lasting peace in Europe could only be achieved through economic cooperation. His idea led to the creation of the European Coal and SteelCommunity (CECA) in 1951, the first step toward a united Europe.
Jean Monnet's work laid the foundation for the European Union, wich today unites 27 countries in peace and cooperation
Jean Monnet famously said : "Europe will be built trough concrete achievements wich first create a de facto solidarity ".
