What do you need to do and wear to stay safe when doing watersports?
Goodbye!
Outdoor Adventure
The Gregors had some vacation time coming up. They wanted to do something really different this year, something outdoors. They had always visited the beach or taken a city break in the past, but now that the children were older, it was time they went 'off-piste'.
At 16 years old, there was no chance Melanie Gregor was sleeping in a tent. Mrs Gregor's boss had a cabin they could borrow anyway, where they could still enjoy a campfire in the evenings. She better pack the marshmallows! But what else would they need?
Outdoor Adventure
"Everything you need will be at the cabin," said Mrs. Gregor's boss as she handed over the keys. Mrs. Gregor wasn't sure what to expect."Thank you," she said, taking the map as well. They wouldn't be able to bring the city bikes, so Mrs. Gregor wondered how they would spend their time.
Outdoor Adventure
"If this beautiful weather holds, I will spend every day on the paddleboard," exclaimed Melanie, as the family entered the cabin. The small house was packed with outdoors equipment.Putting down his bag, Mr. Gregor grabbed a length of rope, "With Daniel's fear of heights, we won't be needing this!" he said, "No mountain climbing for us."
Outdoor Adventure
"Not to worry, everyone! I've got a schedule, so we fit everything in. We want to make the most of the time, and of course, do everything together as a family!" Mrs. Gregor called as she dragged in the last of the bags from the car. The other Gregors moaned and kicked off their boots.

Outdoor Adventure
"Let's stretch our legs after our long drive with a nice hike!" Mrs. Gregor continued. The other Gregors had to admit the place was beautiful: thick forests and rolling meadows, with a terrific mountainscape in the distance. Plus, the paths meant they didn't need a compass or map.
Outdoor Adventure
The kids were excited to roast their dinner over a campfire, so Mr. Gregor unpacked the sausages as soon as the family returned from their hike. The fresh air had made everyone really hungry, and they were grateful roasting was a quick method of cooking!
Outdoor Adventure
Early the next morning, there was a knock at the door. A neighbor had come to lend the Gregors some bikes. Daniel was excited to ride offroad for the first time. "Let's not forget our helmets!" warned Mr. Gregor. Mountain biking was, after all, quite dangerous.
Outdoor Adventure
Luckily, the family packed a picnic, because they were all happy to pedal along the mountainside all day. Biking in nature was quite different to biking in the city. The Gregors had just one day left of camping, so they went to bed early, ready for a day on the water!
