Parts of the Speech: Conjuctions

When we want to make a text, we have to take in consideration the way we structure our sentences and how we put them together in a way they sound cohesive between them and within the chosen topic. In order to do that, we use words called "Conjuctions" They are divided into:

  • Coordinating
  • Subordinating
  • Correlative

Example: I used to like eating junk food, but now I prefer eating healthy food. In the first sentence, it is shown the idea of eating unhealthy food in the past because one used to like it. However, in the second sentence, it is shown the idea of eating something completely opposite form the first.

Example: Although I like pizza, I don´t like pinnaple on it. The first sentence states the idea of liking pizza in general, and the second sentence limits the concept of having a different situation related to the main one, but limitated, which is not liking the pinnaple topping on pizzas, while still thinking of the main idea.
