BACKWARDS DESIGN
STORYBOARDING
ADDIE is a learning development model which provides guidance and structure and helps to create effective learning experiences.
ADDIE IN INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
IT STANDS FOR:
Two processes begin:
IN THE DESIGN PHASE..
While ADDIE is a forward-moving model, Backwards Design is a backward-moving.
ADDIE lends itself to storyboarding.

In this phase, the following questions are answered: Do people like the learning experience? Are they learning something (including what they are meant to learn) and other new skills? What results have been shown? How can the experience be improved?
The primary goal in this phase is to ensure the experience/program is running smoothly. Sometimes the facilitator of the learning experience will roll out this design instead of the instructional designer.
This phase is where the previous designs are developed into the final products for the audience. E.g: a PowerPoint presentation, an infographic, an e-learning course. You transform your storyboard into the experience which learners will use.
By examining the results from the analysis, you find out and create learning outcomes and content, generate storyboards, and choose assessment methods to support the learning goals identified.
Here, the instructional designer conducts an analysis of the audience (food consumers) their learning needs, the problem(s) and environment. A needs assessment is done to determine what the learner can do and what the learners must learn to do.
This stage begins with a course’s learning goals, then works backward to decide what skills and content will achieve these goals. Example: Goal: Learn how to make pizza. Then, decide what skills, tools and information you need to make this pizza.
Storyboarding is the process of planning the content of the learning experience, including text, animations, charts, audio. To plan this very infographic, a plan of content (storyboarding) was done to determine how the information would be presented!
Since job behaviors, knowledge, and skills are well-defined within the framework, ADDIE is able to aptly measure learning effectiveness. It's often used to design training and learning and development programs in organizations.

With Genially templates, you can include visual resources to leave your audience amazed. You can also highlight a specific phrase or data that will be engraved in the memory of your audience, and even embed external content that surprises: videos, photos, audios... Whatever you want!
- Represents data with graphics.
- Uses timelines.
- Is animated and interactive.
- Excites the brain through multimedia elements.
- Does NOT overdo the bullet points 🙃.
- Is clear and structured
- Tells stories hierarchically.
- Matches your audience.
- Adapts fonts and color to the theme.
- Includes images and entertains.
Interactive step-by-step visual communication:
Demonstrate enthusiasm, sketch a smile, and maintain eye contact with your audience can be your best allies when it comes to telling stories that excite and arouse the interest of the public: 'The eyes, kid. They never lie'. This will help you make a match with your audience. Leave them open-mouthed!

Interactivity and animation can be your best allies when creating tables, infographics, or graphics that help provide context to information and simplify data for your audience. We are visual beings and find it easier to 'read' images than to read written text.
