The Little Rock 9 was a group of students who changed history. The Little rock 9 was selected to go into an all-black highschool. They were insulted on a daily basis, however they perserved through discrimination at a young age. They eventually graduated, but the school was closed the next year due to people not wanting schools with blacks and whites.

The statues of the Little Rock 9 shows that the students were real people like me and you. The students lived life happy in an all-black highschool, until they were picked to go to a shool of an all white high school.

This is the clothing Carlotta Wall wore the first day she attended an all-white high school. Although the Little Rock 9's clothes weren't as fancy as most of the other students', they were still very grateful for what they had.
The news that nine African-American students joined a white high school was national news. The nation had different views on if they should or shouldn't be together. Some protested and others supported the nation making a step towards equality.
The freedom riders made a mission too test the laws of segragtion at a national level. They started in Washington D.C. on 1961 asking resturants whether or not they could sit anywhere. However in their journey they were attacked. The KKK ambushed them and ended there jounrey outside Anniston, Alabama. Luckily there were no freedom fighters that died, however they were later frowned upon, and were sometimes attacked.

The van that was attacked still remained, however it was in very poor conditions. It was bombed and shot up by the KKK. It was a group of people who discrimanted against African-Americans with violence.

Greensboro sit-ins were protests that spread throughout the south. It started in Greensboro, North Carolina as they were protesting against segregation. It was a way of protesting against stores, resturants, and other places too not segregate itself. It eventually spread all throughout the south. It made many buisness owners desegregate there stores and was overall beneficial for equal rights.

The seats the protesters used were mostly incomfortable. They would sit there for hours ignoring people who disturbed them. There patience, strength, and love for there people helped stop segregation in many stores.

They were fighting for equality. They were tired of being discriminated against and they protested. Because of what happened in Greensboro many stores desegregated and were free.
The counter was used to rest heads because they would be there for hours. They would ignore people harrasing them by putting there heads down. They were strong, patient, and resilient.
