Room 01
The Montgomery bus boycotts started on December 5, 1955, when Martin Luther King started the Montgomery Improvement Association which led to the organization of the Montggomery Bus Boycott. 99 percent of African Americans refused to ride the bus to school, work, and shops. Because so many people weren't riding the bus, there was a decrease in money for buses. The organization lasted 382 days, and adventally got the government to desgerate the buses.

In Little Rock Arkanassa Central High and Dunbar Highscool were segerated. African Americans attended Dunbar and whites attended Central High. The Parents of Central High wanted to keep the schools segerated but the parents at Dunbar wanted their kids to attended Central High. Arkansa was last place where schools were segerated because in 1954 Brown vs Board of Education ruled that schools needed to desegerate but did not give a set time that they had to desegeratge by, so Arkansa never fully segerated.
