DATA
Interviews with:Estonian teacher educatorsGerman teacher educators Irish teacher educators Swedish teacher educators Spanish teacher educators
Interviews with participants of Innovation week 1 (Barcelona, Spain, autumn 2023), Innovation week 2 (Borås, Sweden, spring 2024) and Innovation week 3 (Galway, Ireland, autumn 2024).
The analysis uncovers patterns and insights from the data to evaluate the effectiveness of Innovation Weeks. These findings help identify strengths and areas for improve-ment, but also addresses whether Innovation Weeks are something to recommend for future professional development of teacher educators.
The main objective is to understand the impact of Innovation Weeks and gather participants’ experiences. It also aims to assess how useful participants found Innovation Weeks for their teaching and to what extent.
OBJECTIVES
The purpose was to gather participants’ experiences of participating in the Innovation Weeks. The aim was also to understand whether participants found the Innovation Weeks useful for their own teaching, and to what extent. Additionally, the conducted interviews sought to determine how participation in the Innovation Weeks helped improve their digital competencies. Another purpose was to explore participants’ experiences of working in transnational groups.

Analysis
The Innovation Weeks had a generally positive impact on participants’ teaching and digital competencies, though experiences varied. Most participants found the sessions useful, gaining confidence in using digital tools and methods. However, some struggled to apply the content in their specific teaching contexts, highlighting a need for more tailored instruction. Participants reported an improvement in their digital skills, but a few felt the content was too advanced for their level. The transnational collaboration was seen as valuable and providing diverse perspectives. Common issues included time constraints and technical difficulties, which affected engagement. Future recommendations are that content should be tailored to different skill levels and teaching contexts, with a focus on practical, applicable exercises. Support for beginners, enhanced collaboration, clearer time management, and better technical assistance are recommended. Follow-up resources and continuous feedback can ensure lasting impact and development.
