Rosa Park
Rosa Park was an African-American. On December 1st, 1955 in Alabama Rosa Park refused to give up her seat to a white passenger. Rosa park got arrested due to her not giving up her seat. This all lead to a bus boycott. People worked toghether to boycott the bus company. Eventally the bus company lost lots of money.

Martin Luther King
Martin Luther King was a leader in the American civil Rights Movement. He is very famous for his "I Have A Dream' speach that happend in 1963. He also led the Bus Boycott in 1955. He is the only person that has a national day. Martin Luther King is known for a lot and is still honored today.
There were 3 Selma marches in 1965. The point of the marches was to bring attention to equal voting rights for African-Americans. But it was not that easy Southerners were making it difficult to register to vote. They made lots of rules to stop African-Americans from voting.

Many people thought that Rosa Parks did not move from her seat because she was lasy and tired. The real truth was that Rose parks was tired of getting pushed around and people telling her what to do. Rose Parks took a big and bold move to show whatshe is worth.
The first Selma March
The first Selma March started on March 7. 1965 Marchers were met with resistance and violence from State Police.New spreed quickly, like on tv and in newspaper. They wanted everyone to know about the Selma March.

After Rosa Parks got arrested it made a lot of people angry. People decided to try and boycott the bus company. Words spread around, and there was so many people working toghther to boycott the bus company. Almost no blacks rode the bus and the company lost tons of money.
That is what the buses looked like. (The bus tha Rosa Park was on)
It is important to recognize how the bus looked. Rosa Parks was sitting on this bus and she did not want to give up her seat to a white passanger. That is when the bus driver came into action, called the police, and they arrested Rosa Parks.

Martin Luther King died in a motel in Memphis, Tennessee. He got shot at the motel. He was 39 years old. It was a very big event and now the motel is a museum for kids and adults that looks exactly how it looked when the big event happend.
Martin Luther King was very brave and he was risking a lot. He was also very strong comma loud, and positive period he was not afraid to tell what keep that and he really wanted to make a difference in the community.

At the "I have a dream speach there were a ton of people there listening to Martin Luther King speech. The speech was all about civil rights. Unfortunately there was a lot of violence. Some people looked afterMartin Luther king, and some people hated him.

2nd Selma March
Martin Luther King organized a 2nd march to Selma on March 9, 1965 to show the voting issue. The second march ended abruptly at a barricade of state troopers. Dr. Martin Luther King turned marchers around and tried his hardest to keep it not violent
3rd Selma March
The third March from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, led Martin Luther King washighly protected. 54 mile march began on March 21,1965 from Selma and ended on March 25, 1965 in Montgomery. By the end it has impacted a lot and a ton of new black voters have been registered. Even though it took a long time, people were glad there was an impact
