In the civil rights movement, plenty has gone bad some good, but this act was the most important yet. Crl (Civil Rights Legislation) is the reason why black people are even to white people. CRL destroyed the laws and assumptions of white people being superior. one major contributor was the 24th amedenment, 24th amendment banned poll tax (Taxing for voting) this meant a ton of black people could vote due to a lot of blacks being in poverty. Another MAJOR contributor was the civil rights act! This act made segration ILEGAL. This made black people closer to being equal to white people than ever.

This is what the marches looked like.

The Selma marches were marches started in Selma, Alabama, and were made to raise awareness to voting rights for African Americans. The first march was met with soldiers with tear gas, clubs, and horses. The second march was met with troops, so they turned around and left. The third march was heavily protected with a small army that allowed the people to march from March 21 to 25.

Montgomery bus boycott

Montgomery Bus Boycott

The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a boycott to buses organized by the NAACP. It began from Rosa Parks, who was arrested because she sat in the bus and refused to give up her seat to a white man. This caused her to be arrested and jailed. This initiated the bus boycott, started December 5th, 1955, where 99% of African Americans refused to ride the bus, getting to work by carpooling, riding bikes, and walking. This made almost all buses to be empty, and the bus company was losing money rapidly. By the end of the bus boycott, 382 days had passed and the bus company lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. In order to keep making money, the bus company allowed black people and white people to ride in the same places.

This is the 24th amendment paper , that states. Elimination of Poll Taxes” Amendment Twenty-four to the Constitution was ratified on January 23, 1964.

This is the paper that offically verifies this amazing law.so if this stands the law stands .

This is a picture of Martin Luther King giving his "I Have a Dream" speech, which is probably one of the most famous speeches in history.

This article written by Rosa Parks and it reads: “I had been pushed around all my life and felt at this moment that I couldn’t take it anymore. When I asked the policeman why we had to be pushed around? He said he didn’t know. ‘The law is the law. You are under arrest.’ I didn’t resist.”

This is the bus that Rosa Parks was riding when she refused to give her seat.

This picture shows Rosa Parks being arrested and getting her fingerprint taken.
