WHAT ARE?
Definition: Phrasal verbs are expressions made up of a verb combined with one or more particles (usually prepositions or adverbs) that alter the original meaning of the verb. Example: The verb "take" has a different meaning in "take off" (to remove or to ascend) than it does in "take a break" (to pause).

Components: Verb: The core action (e.g., "look") Particle: A preposition or adverb (e.g., "up") Example: "Look up" can mean to search for information (e.g., "I will look up the word in the dictionary").
