Carnivores
Comprehension Question:
Name some animals that are carnivores.
Carnivores are animals that eat flesh. Most carnivores have sharp teeth called incisors, which they use to hunt and eat their prey. Lions, tigers, and wolves are some examples of carnivores.
Carnivores
Carnivores are territorial, which means they like to protect their space from other animals. They may threaten or attack other animals to defend their territory.
Carnivores
Carnivores are territorial because they need a lot of food to survive. When a carnivore is starving, it will do whatever it takes to find food and may hunt more aggressively.

Surviving in the Jungle
If you want to survive in the jungle, there are some important tools you will need to bring with you. You will need a long rope to climb trees, matches for making a fire, and a tarp you can hang for shelter. You can also bring a net for fishing and a cloth to make a sail for a raft.
Surviving in the Jungle
The jungle is home to many animals in different shapes, sizes, and colors! You can track animals in the wild by looking for their dung or pawprints in the earth. Some animals that live in the jungle have fangs, like tigers! Be careful of these animals because they are strong predators. If a predator comes near your campsite, you can frighten them away with fire or a loud bang!
Surviving in the Jungle
Some animals swing from trees, like monkeys and koalas. Look up and you will see how the young cling to their mothers while they climb. Some animals have wings and can fly high above the treetops. These animals can sing you a beautiful tune and warn you when predators are nearby.
Surviving in the Jungle
Some predators won’t hunt you as prey, like spiders and scorpions, but their bite or sting can be fatal! The most important thing to remember is that the jungle is the home of these animals, and this is where they belong!
