Relationships Leader & Team
As a leader I want to build a collaborative and engaging environment between myself and my team members to:
- Grow and develop professionally through coaching and effective feedback.
- Build a strong foundation of inclusive teaching and learning practices
- Empower staff to make the best informed decisions for their learners.
Relationships Team & Organization
As an organizational leader I believe staff and the organization as a whole must developed strong relationships to ensure a healthy and safe educational environment. In order to develop this I will:
- Foster transparency through regular updates and active listening to all stakeholders.
- Create shared goals and invite input from parents, staff, and students in decision-making.
- Acknowledge each group’s role, valuing their contributions equally.
- Encourage parent and student participation in school events and leadership discussions.
- Offer resources and guidance, addressing concerns promptly and effectively across all levels.
Leadership and relationships are interconnected. Effective leaders build trust through open communication, active listening, and respect, fostering collaboration and making team members feel valued. This strengthens team cohesion and enhances organizational success, creating a positive environment where individual needs are understood and supported.
Relationship with Leader & Organization
Here is my plan to build stakeholder relationships:
- Visibility at the school, school events, and in the classrooms on a daily basis.
- Delegation of tasks and responsibility to allow myself to be present for students, staff, parents, and community members
- Active listening to stakeholders in all settings.
- Open, honest, and frequent communication practices
As an organizational leader all stakeholders must have a place and a voice at the table. I would strive to ensure as a leader I am visible to students, staff, and community. It is important that all stakeholders also feel empowered to be present and share their voice in the decision making processes.
Leadership of Others
As a leader, I take an open-door approach to working with staff to resolve conflicts and overcome obstacles that arise in the workplace. I strive to empower educators to be the lead decision-makers in their classrooms and provide coaching and feedback on effective instructional practices.
Approaches to conflict resolution:
- Separate people from the problem
- Focus on interest not positions
- Brainstorming options for mutual agreement and understanding.
