Silent Waters, Loud Problems: Understanding Marine Pollution
Introduction
Marine Pollution is a severe environmental issue, that affects both the health of our oceans and the survival of many marine species. Plastics, chemicals and oil spills are among the main pollutants affecting marine ecosystems. Many animals, such as sea turtles and fish, mistake plastic for food, that can cause choking, malnutrition, or death. Oil spills create a toxic layer on the water's surface, harming animals like seabirds and marine mammals by limiting their ability to float and stay warm. Understanding the impact of marine pollution on animals reveals the urgency of addressig this problem and the need for action to protect ocean biodiversity for a sustainable future.
Damaged by chemicals and microplastics
Corals
These animals are among the most affected by marine pollution:
Sea Turtles
Eat plastic mistaken for food
Seabirds
Ingest plastic and suffer from oil spills
Fish
Consume microplastics and chemicals
Whales & Dolphins
Affected by plastic and noise pollution
Seals & Sea lions
Get entangled in fishing nets and harmed by oil spills

Some things that we human do that influence marine pollution:
Excessive Plastic Use
Littering
Improper Waste Disposal
Overfishing
Chemical Runoff
Not Recycling
Making these changes can help protect the oceans and marine life.
What we could improve and do better:
Reduce Plastic Usage
Proper Disposal
Participate In Cleanups
Support Sustainable Practices
Educate others
Recycle

Conclusion
Marine pollution significantly harms marine life, leading to habitat destraction and threatening biodiversity.
To help fix this problem, we should reduce plastic use, improve waste management and support protective policies for oceans. Public awareness and community clean-up efforts, are also very important.
By working all together, we can help restore ocean health and protect marine species for the future.
