What is a MOOC
Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are courses that offer quality learning experiences for in-service teachers.
This MOOC is based on four key intentions. To provide a learning experience which is:o Learner-centered – the content developed with practicing teachers in mind so that learning is situated and of relevance to the classroom o Flexible – the content can be accessed at any time and on any device. o Interactive – the content combines self-study and reflection with hands on interaction in context and with peers. o Inclusive – the course is open to all teachers in volved in primary English education in Portugal, no matter where they are in Portugal.

Participants are encouraged to assume an active role in their time management of completing activities, in monitoring the learning carried out, in establishing learning goals and in the creation of learning communities modelled by the participants themselves.
