Soviet vs. US
The Soviets found that stationing the missiles in Cuba was a necessary response t to US military missiles being placed in both Italy and Turkey. This posed a major threat to the Soviet Union because the two countries border the Soviet Union and meant they needed to up their arms which were significanlty less than the US's. Sending a message like this was most important because Kruschev and the Soviet government were under pressure for being severly behind in the nuclear presense.
The US made it a point to retaliate after missiles were placed in Cuba because they feared thier image as a powerful domineering powerwas being undermined by the Soviets. USSR missiles being pointed directly at American soil so close emerges a perception as a direct challenge to American power and Soviet agression. They also feared that the presence of missiles would cause and uproar leading them to the brink of nuclear destruction. This lead JFK to make public address the Soviet Union.
US vs. Soviet
The video displayed above shows they complete adress of JFK pertaining to the Cuban Missle Crisis. He disclosed to the public that the Soviet Union has been secrelty deploying military grade missiles to Cuba, to pose a threat to the United States. He urges Kruschev to deter from any other froms of agression. He also explains how using a quaratining method of Cuba's trading channels in order to stop more shipments from the Soviet Union.
