A evolução da máquina de costura
Giovanna,Dânia e Elina
Beginning - (1790): The English inventor Thomas Saint made the first design of a sewing machine. However, despite the idea, he never built a working model. - (1830): The French tailor Barthe created the first functional sewing machine, which was used to sew uniforms. However, local tailors, fearing they would lose their jobs, destroyed his machines.
Important Advances - (1846): The American inventor Elias Howe patented a machine with a special needle that had a hole at the tip and a shuttle that moved under the fabric. This improved the quality and speed of sewing. - (1851): Isaac Singer made major innovations, such as the pedal and a needle that moved up and down, making the sewing machine much easier to use and popular.
20th Century - (1905): The first electric sewing machines appeared, significantly increasing speed and efficiency, both at home and in factories. - (1930): The machines became smaller and more portable, which helped popularize sewing as a home hobby.
Modern Era - (1980): Computerized sewing machines appeared, allowing for greater precision and more functions. They could be programmed to make various types of stitches and even automatically embroider. - Today: Modern machines have digital screens, can connect to computers to download new patterns, and offer many automatic functions, such as tension adjustment, stitch selection, and even automatic thread cutting.
