Os gorilas

São primatas herbívoros e da família dos hominídeos. São considerados os maiores primatas vivos.Existem duas espécies principais de gorilas:

• Gorila do ocidental,
• Gorila do oriental.

Características físicas dos gorilas

Tamanho:

• até 1.80m de altura.

• Entre 140kg até 220kg.

• Peito largo, braços longos e corpo musculoso,
• Pele geralmente preta.

Cabeça

• cabeça grande
• mandíbulas fortes
• dentes grandes

• Visão boa
• olfato menos desenvolvido em comparação com os restantes primatas

Como vivem em comunidade?

Vivem em grupos sociais designados de bandos compostos por fêmeas, as suas crias e machos, que geralmente são liderádos por um macho chamado SilverBack.A estrutura social dos gorilas é matriarcal.

Desempenha um papel crucial e envolve posturas e movimentos que transmitem confiança ou ameaças.

Gritos e rugidos que podem representar emoções como: alegria, raiva ou alarme.

Os gorilas

São geralmente encontrados nas florestas tropicais da África.

• O Gorilla do oriente habita em florestas densas e áreas montanhosas, como Uganda.
• O gorilla do oeste habita em países como a república do congo e partes da nigéria
