Museum
The Salvador Dalí Theater-Museum, where you can see countless works by the famous Spaniard Salvador Dali, is located in Figueres, near the capital of Spain Barcelona. The event was organized by Dalí himself and includes sculptures, installations, paintings and very curious arrangements that immerse us in surrealism.
Énervés de Jumièges
- Artist: Frenchman Eugène Boudin;
- Date: After 1880;
- Technique: Oil on canvas;
- The story behind this work involves two brothers who are rebellious and end up being punished by the king, generally causing the nerves in their legs to deteriorate, then a raft was built where they were thrown into the sea.
What the work inspires me to write
This work makes me imagine two children who would live in a village isolated from everything and everyone just with their grandparents, one sad day there was a flood and the two brothers, in order to save themselves, climbed to the roof of the house with their grandparents in an act of saving their family. Grandfather made a raft with a bed and put his grandchildren on it, but when he and his wife got on board the raft was too much for them and in an attempt to save his grandchildren he pushed the raft away with his two brothers, hoping that they would be saved. he and his wife were left with death. However, the ermaus were saved and were welcomed into a remote area by a priest who raised them, later in the hope of finding their grandparents' house and they went in search of that village but when they arrived where it should have been they found no traces of either the flood or life as if this were all just a dream...
