Gracie LeAnn Dimit, was a 20-year-old student at Emory & Henry College, who died in a car accident on July 16, 2020. Her death was linked to hazing activities associated with her sorority, Kappa Phi Alpha. After her death, her family and friends created the Gracie LeAnn Dimit Memorial Foundation to honor the life of Gracie. The family filed a lawsuit which alleges that Gracie participated in several hazing rituals that included physical beatings and being zip-tied. .

Adam Jeffrey Oakes

Adam Oakes was a freshman at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). During the Delta Chi fraternity initiation event, he was encouraged by the members to drink a handle of liquor. His blood alcohol concentration (BAC) exceeded the national index, causing him to collapse and pass away that night. Named after his kind and loving personality, the Love Like Adam foundation was founded by Oakes' cousin Courtney White and his father Eric Oakes.

Marvell Edmonson
April 20, 2013
Marvell Edmonson was a freshman at Virginia State University when he passed away on April 20, 2013. Edmonson was forced to cross the Appomattox River as part of the initiation process for the Men of Honor club. While other boys crossed the river, Edmonson and freshman Jauwan Holmes were carried away by the river rapids. Four members of the Men of Honor were charged with hazing and the death of the two men.

Harrison Cole Carter

Harrison Carter Cole was a 18-year-old student at Hampden-Sydney College who died on March 25, 2017 from alcohol intoxication after a hazing ritual for the Alpha Chi Sigma sorority. After his death, the family sued the college and the fraternity, eventually reaching a $2.35 million settlement in 2018.
