Can shipwreck be a productive experience?
Answer:
Answer: St. George Monastery Founded in the 9th century by Greek sailors shipwrecked in a storm. The men called on St. George for help and he appeared on the large rock near the shore and calmed the storm. The sailors built a temple, and later a monastic complex. The poet Alexander Pushkin was among the A-list visitors to this cliff-cut monastery. It was closed during Soviet times and reopened in 1991. Although the complex is small, its buildings stand on the cliff edge and serve as recognizable features from the sea.
