Vaudeville has a variety of shows featuring comedians, singers, dancers, musicians, acrobats, animal trainers, etc. Acts typically lasted more than three minutes. Shows included about a dozen acts, starting and ending with the weakest. Comedy was the main focus. Vaudville offered family-friendly entertainment (unlike earlier variety shows)

Personal takeaway

I think this was a great aspect of America History as it offered a fusion of various cultural traditions (English Music Hall, minstrel shows, Yiddish theater). It also crossed racial and class boundaries and provided exposure to different cultures for many Americans Platform for immigrant families to assimilate and showcase their heritage.
