Your RoleIn your role you’ll receive enquiries about the test and marker cycles. You may receive calls about the marking cycle to do with responding to calls and e-mails, recruiting markers (making offers and right to work checks) and marker training events.
You may receive calls about the test cycle to do with responding to calls and e-mails, from teachers, headteachers, local authorities and parents.
We print 8 million test papers, 16,000 pupil registers, school instructions and stationery for the tests. We collate printed test papers for distribution to 16,000 schools and prepare packs for international delivery to schools of service personnel abroad.
We arrange logistics to ensure delivery of test papers for each test, then arrange 48,000 collections of tests over a 2-week window.
We scan and store 3.6 million test papers completed by KS2 pupils. We train 4500 test script markers over 2 days. The marking is then done using onscreen technology over 4 weeks.
We keep track of data ensuring marks for all pupils are accounted for and schools receive their KS2 marks at the same time on the same day.
We run a helpline to provide help and guidance to 16,000 schools through the test cycle and support recruitment of 4500 markers.
We run systems to support marking, these include:
- MarkManager - used to mark tests onscreen
- Capita One Digital - school Gateway to administering and accessing tests, on results day the gateway receives on average 9,000 hits every half an hour
