Growth mindsets
Brians grow and change! Jo Bolaer's Youcubed team shows how important it is to belive we can do well. Your student already has an inate understanding of this - they are willing to learn from their mistakes. As a parent I know it is hard to help in math at times - and that is ok. Please just keep reminding your student that trying and being willing to learn is the #1 key to success in math class!
Your student might already possess some of the charistricts below. If they do, please support them in continuing with these things. If your student starts to get stuck or is unwilling to continute to try - please be the supprt they need to keep going! This will allow your student to continue with their Growth Mindset.Having this Growth Mindset will help them be successful in our Math class. As a parent or guardia how can you help your student continue to learn frommistakes?

As a parent or guardian the biggest help that you can be for your student in math is to help them overcome the obsticles shown in the image below. All year through math we work on learning from mistakes, accepting challenges, and knowing that EVERYONE can do well in math. As a parent or guardian how can you help your students overcome the obsticales listed below?
Fixed Mindsets
Mistakes are powerful! Research shared by Jo Boaler and her YouCubed team shows that we learn more by making mistakes. This is something that is hard to do as a student. Your students do not like to be wrong and make mistakes. Growing the ability to learn from mistakes in our math class is one thing I try to install all year long.
