1. MOS Score: The MOS (Mean Opinion Score) rates your audio quality on a scale from 1 to 5. A score above 4 is ideal. Scores below 4 could mean difficulties in understanding the other person during calls.
2. Bandwidth: Bandwidth shows your available internet speed for Aircall. Minimum Requirement - At least 2Mbps for clear calls. Low bandwidth can cause delays, audio distortion, or dropped calls. Closing other internet-heavy applications might help.
3. TURN: TURN is a technology that helps connect your device to the internet. Result: NO - No issues expected. Result: YES - Might be fine, but could indicate firewall or network issues.
4. Protocol: Aircall uses two protocols: UDP - Preferred for faster and more efficient voice calls. TCP- Can cause more latency.
5. Connection Type: Your connection type can affect call quality. Best Option: Ethernet cable. Wi-Fi: Less reliable, prone to packet loss and jitter due to distance from the router, physical obstacles, or too many connected devices.
6. Packet Loss: Audio is sent in small data packets. Lost packets can affect call quality. Ideal Packet Loss: 0%. If you have 1% or more, investigate. Ensure you use a good Ethernet cable and avoid VPNs.
7. Jitter: High jitter means unstable latency, which can cause: Audio gaps, Echoes, Call drops. Keep jitter below 30ms for good call quality. A reliable Ethernet connection and avoiding VPNs can help reduce jitter.
8. Round Trip Time (RTT): RTT measures how long it takes for a data packet to travel to its destination and back. Ideal RTT: 300ms or less. Higher RTT can cause noticeable delays in conversations.
9. Processor: The device used needs enough processing power for smooth calls. Minimum Requirement: 2.5 GHz processor. Low performance may cause Aircall to freeze or have poor audio quality.
10. Memory (RAM): The device also needs sufficient memory. Minimum Requirement: 4GB of RAM. Low memory can cause sluggish performance or audio issues during calls.
