2. LO IATO, IL DITTONGO E IL TRITTONGO

1.LE VOCALI

Nella gragia le vocali sono indicate da cinque lettere: a, e,i,o,u. Nel parlato, a queste cinque lettere corrispondono sette suoni: la e e la o possono essere pronunciate sia come vocali aperte sia come vocali chiuse.

• cèrto (suono aperto)/ néro (suono chiuso);
• fòglio (suono aperto)/mattone (suono chiuso)

1. Le vocali

VIA - PAURA - POETA- PAURA- TRIANGOLO - OCEANO

Si ha uno IATO quando due vocali vicine, all'interno di una parola, si pronunciano separatamente e appartengono a due diverse sillabe .

2. Lo iato

CHIODO - FIUME - GUERRA - BUONO- LUI - PAUSA

Il DITTONGO è costituito dall'unione di vocali che vengono pronunciate con una sola emissione di voce e che formano una sola sillaba. I dittonghi possono essere formati da:

• i o u + vocale accentata (quadro, piede)
• vocale + i o u (mai, euro)

Il TRITTONGO è costituto dall'unione di tre vocali, di cui due sono i e u oppure due i, che vengono pronunciate con una sola emissione di voce e che formano una sola sillaba.
