Examples
Tone
Tone refers to the attitude or emotional quality conveyed by a speaker or writer through their choice of words and style. It reflects the author's feelings towards the subject matter and can significantly influence how the audience perceives the message.
Audience
An audience is defined as a group of people who gather to listen to or watch a performance, presentation, or any form of artistic expression. Examples:
- Teachers, parents, students, community members, children, politicians, etc...
Author's Purpose
- An author's purpose is his/her reason for or intent in writing.
- Examples:
- inform, describe, educate/teach, explain, argue, persuade, narrate, condemn, express
Perspective
- Point of view in informational texts is defined as the way an author looks at or considers a topic or idea.
- It reflects the author's thoughts, feelings, and opinions about the subject matter.
- Sometime you can tell if the author is FOR or AGAINST something.
