Technology Advocacy Plan

Technology Integration is the process of bringing technology into the classroom. A more specific definition comes from this article from Edutopia and states,"Technology integration is the use of technology resources -- computers, mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, digital cameras, social media platforms and networks, software applications, the Internet, etc. -- in daily classroom practices, and in the management of a school"((Gilbertson, 2007).

By seamlessly incorporating technology into the learning environment, educators can enhance students' opportunities for collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. An example of this could be using interactive whiteboards in the classroom. This allows teachers to present information engagingly and will enable students to participate. Students can collaborate and ask questions throughout class. Another way integrating technology can empower learning is by using adaptive learning programs. These programs allow students to do self-paced, adaptive, and specific learning. ‌

Technology can benefit both teachers and students in several key ways. First, it enables students who might not have access to technology at home to learn and use technology. In today's world, technology is becoming increasingly prominent in our lives. For teachers, it enables us to take a step back and become more of a guide. This is beneficial because teachers can spend more time worrying about grading than worrying if students are learning due to technology

I would first show them how to access it. You can look at Flipgrid on Google Chrome or Safari. After that, I would explain how to use it, such as sending video responses and watching people's responses. Then, I showed them how to adopt this into the classroom. First, this would be a great program if your student population has computers at home. On the first day of class, you would help them set it up and have them record a response to a simple question to get used to it. For a student population on the lower end of the economy, not every student will have a computer, so iw would recommend not using it. But this is where grants come into play and are helpful. Flips is an easy and fun way to communicate in the classroom.

  1. Kahoot is a website and app that allows teachers to create quizzes on specific topics. This is beneficial because teachers can create interactive quizzes on any topic for any skill level.
  2. Google Slides allows teachers to prepare information using different slides or pictures. This enables teachers to help students in real-time, answer any questions, and provide more information.
  3. Flip or Flipgrid is a program that allows teachers and students to send video responses. This allows more communication outside of the classroom.

This is how I would introduce using Flipgrid to teachers and students.

Using flip, teachers can provide gifted learners with harder or more work. They can also answer any questions they may have.

Google slides can be tailored to learners with special education by either offering a lot of information or allowing these students to look back at them. Google slides can be translated to most languages so that they can be read and learned by ELLs.

Kahoot can help early finishers by allowing teachers to create quizzes that take longer or even adding a timer for when the question is answered. It can also offer multiple intelligences by allowing teachers to create quizzes on topics ranging from music to culinary arts.

Each of those tool on the otehr side can be used to fullfill the needs of diverse learners.
