The Day of the Dead combines ancient Aztec customs, like the belief in Ancestors, with Spanish coustoms, like All Souls' Day. During the Spanish conquest of Mexico, the conquistadors brought their traditions. Today, Mexicans believe that the souls of their passed loved ones visit them on the Day of the Dead.
