The aim of these activities is to revise clothes vocabulary in a fun way. They are designed to attract students' attention to detail and encourage them to speak about the unusual designs. The set includes 3 activities that revise the items of clothing and encourage students to talk about the outfits, and 2 slides which give more reading practice based on a short video. There is a handout provided for the reading activities.
Fashion show
Name the clothes
Activity 1 Explain to the ss that they will have 3 minutes to complete the task. The images of the animals in clothes are changing and students need to mark the words which correspond to the items of clothing they see. When they are done, they click check to see if they are correct. When the activity is done correctly another button appears which will show the images one by one. When the time finishes the images disappear. You can reactivate the images by clicking TRY AGAIN Activity 2 T shows the images individually asking students to describe what the animal is wearing. This is meant to activate the vocabulary which students revised before. Class activities - vocabulary * Put students into teams and tell them to write down the items they recognize. Check the items on the board to see if they are correct. * Put ss in teams and organize a tema race - which teams can name all the items correctly wins. * Individual practice - online ss - ask s to click the words themselves and then check Class activities - speaking / writing * Put ss into teams. Ask every ss to prepare a sentence about the clothes the animals are wearing. Tell them to use the words from the slide. Ask ss to say their sentence one by one. Tell them that the sentences cannot repeat. This will make ss think of a new idea every time. * Ask ss to work in groups and prepare a written description of a chosen image. Make it a competition - the more colorful description the better. * Click exclamation mark and show ss all the pictures at once - ask them to pick an image and either create an oral or a written description. Make sure that ss pick all the images.
Activity 1 (slide 6) - Reading and writing T shows the short video - fashion show, and ss need to fill in the text with the words on top. Activity 2 (slide 7) Reading and writing Ss watch the short video and write down the words that fit the context. The answers may vary. The aim of this activity is to check ss ability to understand the context and use clothing vocabulary in practice.
