Sensitivity
Reproduction
Nutrition is the process through which all living things get energy from food.
We, the plants make our own food through a process called... well, you know right?
Nutrition
We, the animals, can be herbivore, carnivores or omnivores
Sensitivity is the process throughwhich all living things detect and respond to changes in their environment.
We detect information through our senseorgans and react
We don't have sense organs, but we react to changes in our environment too (leaves falling in fall)
Sensitivity
Reproduction is the process throughwhich all living things produce offspring
Two types of reproduction
Sexual
Need two partners Two types: viviparous (birth to young), oviparous (lay eggs)
Asexual
Only need one partner
Reproduction
We are oviparous, we lay eggs. Did you know other animals do not lay eggs?
Whatttt??!! And how are they called?
Viviparous daddy!

Review questions
1. What are cells?2. What is multicellular and unicellular?3. What are the 3 life processes that all living things carry out?4. What are the 6 types of cells and its organs called?5. You need to recognize a picture of each type of cell.6. What are the levels of organization? Give me one example7. Most important bones and muscles of our body8. What is the locomotor system and what does it do?9. What is the skeletal system? How many bones do we have? What are other parts of the skeletal system? (cartilage, joints, ligaments)10. What is the muscular system? How many muscles do we have? How are they attached to bones?11. What are antagonist muscles?12. How does a muscle make us move? (contracts/relaxes)13. What is the flexing and extending movement? (Explain and learn about the picture)
Don't be like this!
Amazing nature!
All living things...
Are made up of cells
Carry out these functions:

Types of cells
The nucleus controls what happens in the cell.
Organells are situated in the cytoplasm. There are different types and carry out a variety of functions.
Cytoplasm is the liquid that makes up most of the cell. It is mainly water.
Cell membrane is a thin and permeable layer that separates the inside of the cell from the outside.

Nucleus
They have a rigid cell wall around the membrane to strengthen the shape and structure of the plant.
Cell membrane
Organelles
Chloroplasts are special organelles that contain a green subtance called chlorophyll to carry out photosynthesis.
Cytoplasm
Unicellular and multicellular organisms
Cells
Hi! I'm a cell. I'm the basic unit of life. You aremade up of millions of cells! That is why you are a multicellular organism
We are soooo tiny we can only be seen under a microscope. And we carry out the three basic life processes. Do you remember what they were?
Types of cells
Cells can divide and produce new cells that are identical to themselves
Cells react to what they percieve around them
Cells obtain nutrients and energy from food
