Claims are what you are arguing for, and evidence is what proves your argument is correct.
Claim and evidence are often the same thing, and can be substituted for one another.

A well-structured claim can make an argument stronger.
A well-structured claim has no influence. Only Evidence matters.
How can context clues in a text help you identify the claim the author is making?
Context clues aren't useful for finding the claim or author's purpose.
Context clues that indicate opinion can reveal the author's claim and purpose.
Why is it important to differentiate between a claim and an opinion when constructing an argument?
Both claims and opinions are based in facts and can often be the same, or used in the same way.
A claim is can be supported with evidence, while an opinion is not based on facts.
Why is it essential for a claim to be specific?
Specific claims are actually not important and make have no effect on the work.
Specific claims focus the argument on a particular issue, allowing for clearer evidence to be presented.
