Fun Fact
- Labor: the baby moves face down usually towards the mothers spine, the babys one shoulder will be towards the spine while the other is towards the stomach. The womans contractions are becoming closer and closer. Fetal Developmet: The baby begins to open their eyes, they gain weight, grow in size, and the lungs are still maturing. The baby begins to prepare for delivery and by doing so they secrete a hormone that will trigger delivery. Labor Stages: The first stage is when the labor begins and the cervix dilates. The second stage is complete dilation and the baby is delivered. The third stage is delivering the placenta. Dilation: Dilation is the cervix widening to prepare for the baby to be delivered. It is measured in centimeters and typically a baby will be delivered around 6 to 10 centimeters. Passage through birth canal: The baby should be head first and the chin is forced back away from the body, and slowly begins to leave the birth canal and the shoulders rotate. Afterbirth: the baby's placenta is cut and the mother has to give birth to the placenta and fetal membrane. Place: this takes place in the uterus, cervix, and then the baby is out
