Once a claim is filed, it is sent to the appropriate DCO for the next steps.
Western DCOs

- Perform administrative duties and maintenance of claims files
- Assist managers, examiners, and adjusters in daily office operations

- Assist with office management, flow of claims to adjusters, maintenance of claims files, and operation of the DCO
- Assist District Claims Managers, adjusters, and assistants in daily office operations
Field Claims Adjuster (FCA)
- Licensed and work in the field
- Handle both casualty and property type claims

- Handle a narrower field of claim types including:
- Casualty
- Injury
- Property
- Material Damage
- Arbitration/Subrogation
- Special Investigations Unit
Casualty Adjuster (CA)
- Position available: Home Office and DCOs
- Licensed and office-based
- Handle low-severity, high frequency claims
- Focus on handling Casualty claims
- For example, liability from car or other accidents where our insured is legally liable

- Evaluates and settles injury claims
- Adheres to Medicare's requirements regarding reporting of injury claims
- Consists of 4 DCOs and a Worker’s Compensation Office
Material Damage Division
- Consists of Material Damage Appraisers, Auto Salvage, Arbitration & Subrogation, and the Material Damage DCO
- The Material Damage DCO handles Auto glass claims, Towing and Labor Claims, and has an Auto Total Loss Unit
Out of State
- Handles any claim that occurs outside the borders of NC
